Methodology

Source
Google Ads search volume for the United States, in English, month by month from October 2022 to September 2026, retrieved through DataForSEO on October 28, 2026.
Searches
34 searches for five kinds of career professionals, and 28 searches job seekers make themselves: 24 for resumes, resume help, cover letters and resume checkers, plus four general job searches ("jobs", "jobs near me", "hiring near me", "job search"). Searches naming a resume builder, resume-writing company or job board are not included.
Calculation
For each search, the median month in each 12-month period from October to September ("searches in a typical month"), so a one-month spike cannot inflate a result. A group's figure adds up its searches. Change compares the year ChatGPT launched (October 2022 to September 2023) with October 2025 to September 2026.
Close variants
Google gives some close variants one shared figure. "Interview coach" and "interview coaching" return identical monthly numbers, as do "career counselor" and "career counseling", so each pair is counted once. Google's figure for "resume writer" also covers "resume writing".
