Cover Letters are usually synonymous with formal and bland rambling that you write down hoping for an invite to a job interview. I just love it how Novorésumé has enhanced that and is offering you a tool to build proper arguments and structured discourse about who YOU ARE and what YOU CAN DO.
A real confidence booster, I tell you, seeing your motivation eloquently written!

Cover Letters Resources
What is a Cover Letter?
Cover letters are ideally one-page documents that introduce you as a candidate for a job.
You submit your cover letter with your CV. The best cover letters:
Show your motivation to join the company.
Highlight the essential parts of your career.
Explain how you – and your experience – fit the role.
Recruiters usually read cover letters after they scan your CV and decide you’re a good candidate.
So cover letters shouldn’t rehash the contents of your CV. Yes, mention the most relevant roles or achievements, but personalise it for the reader.
Why Use a Cover Letter Template?
Your CV may get your foot through the door.
But your cover letter can help you walk through it.
Don’t treat your cover letter as an afterthought.
Use it as your secret weapon to show the recruiter that you’re serious about the job.
What to Include in Your Cover Letter?
Put these six sections in your cover letter.
Header: At the top, write down your contact information, as well as the recruiter’s (their name, company name, and company address).
Greeting: Use “Dear Sir or Madam,” . Better still, find their first name and surname if you can. Personalisation shows extra effort. Read our How to Address Your Cover Letter article for more tips.
Opening paragraph: This is your hook! Summarise your background (“financial analyst with X+ years of experience”) and say what you want (“looking for X position at Company Y”).
Second paragraph: Here, explain how you’re qualified for the position and why the recruiter should pick you. This is a good place to briefly mention your achievements.
Third paragraph: You talk about why you’re a good match for the company, mentioning points listed in the job advertisement. And show how your values align with the company’s.
Formal closing: Finally, you end the cover letter with a quick summary and a call to action (“I’m interested in speaking to you about this role at Company X. Please let me know if you have any questions about my experience or interest in this position”).
How to Write a Great Cover Letter
There’s a lot that goes into writing a great cover letter. Here are some key tips:
Avoid Fluff: Be as specific as possible. Avoid vague statements like “I’m a good fit for the company because I’m a good critical thinker.”
Do Your Research: Companies don’t like people who apply for dozens of jobs without much thought. But they do like when someone is passionate about their company. Someone who wants to contribute. So, do your research and show your knowledge and passion in your cover letter.
Link Your Achievements with Data: Instead of saying, “I improved company revenue,” say “I managed to hit and exceed sales KPIs for 5+ months in a row.”
How Long Should a Cover Letter Be?
Short. Most recruiters agree. Think a page, or about 250 to 400 words.
How Can I Write a Student Cover Letter?
Instead of focusing on your career experience like a regular cover letter, talk about:
Why you want to work for the company you’re applying for.
How your educational background prepared you for the job.
How your skillset can help you stand out and excel at the job.
